Choosing Your Cake Flavour

There are significant price differences in cake flavours. If you are on a tight budget, you will be looking for a simple butter cake, e.g vanilla cake or a sponge cake. Mud cake and Fruit cake are the more expensive ones. Do not feel embarrassed to ask your cake maker about the cheapest flavours available.

Your wedding cake can be any size. You can order a small decorated wedding cake to be displayed on the bridal table and for the cake cutting ceremony. Then order another cake with a simple icing to be served to your guests.

Decorations

If sugar decorations are too expensive, why not try fresh or artificial flowers or plastic figurines. Add ribbons and bows to make your cake look more elegant.

Serving Size

Serving your wedding cakes as coffee portions instead of dessert portions will save money.

Homemade Cakes

If you or a friend are good at baking, bake your own favourite homemade cake for your wedding. Ask your cake decorator if they can decorate your baked cake to save money. You can also buy handcrafted sugar decorations and decorate your cake.
