What’s The Colour Of Your Bridesmaid Dresses?
Your Lovely Bridesmaids
Bridesmaids are a significant part of the wedding party and when it comes to choosing their dresses one of the first thing a bride thinks is: “What colour am I going to have?”
Sarah from Wedding House’s Wedding
When I got married back in 2008 for years I had always wanted to have black as the colour of my bridesmaid dresses. Since being married black has become a popular choice. I did enjoy going out with my special girlfriends and trying on dresses together.
But at the end of the day, when it comes to making your choice it’s about having colours that r will suit with the body of the bridesmaids but also tie in with the overall them of your wedding day.
There is a wide range of colors that can be chosen for the bridesmaid dresses but it would be better if one chooses such dresses with colors that will suit with the season and the mood of the wedding party.
Pink
The most common color that is chosen for bridesmaid dresses is pink. The pink color signifies the femininity and it also expresses the innocence of the girls. The pink color bridesmaid dresses will be most suitable for outdoor wedding party settings in the season of springs. If the bridesmaids are a little mature, you may choose different shades of pink such as rum pink that is fine to be used by mature girls.
Black
Black was already mentioned before, but black dresses along with white or other light colors (eg. white flowers) give a very elegant feel and a huge contrast from the bride. Most women look lovely in black dresses and it is considered as the most versatile color. Black dresses and bridesmaid gowns can also be used for other formal occasions after the wedding and is a popular choice for brides today.
Red
Another impressive color for bridesmaid dresses that can be used is Red. Red dresses seem sexier and bold. If you want to tone down the effect of the red, you may choose shorter bridesmaid dresses along with a combination of some light colors. Yet, red doesn’t suit with all girls. Brunettes with brown or olive skin color will find red dresses very attractive for themselves while redheads and blondes may not feel good as they will look a little pale in red dresses.
Purples & Blues
If red is a colour you want to avoid you may consider choosing purple, navy blue or other dark blue shade dresses are a suitable substitute for black bridesmaid dresses. Royal blue or navy blue colors suit most of the women. They give a sophisticate look with a slimming effect. Furthermore, dark blue colors can suitably be used in happy events like wedding ceremonies.
In case you don’t find dark blue color dresses attractive enough, you may choose a green or maroon bridesmaid dresses as they also offer slimming effect while they are considered as the colors of happiness.
Obviously every colour mentioned above comes in different shades, patterns and styles. Pastels are a popular choice today as well.
The main thing to consider is to choose a colour and a dress that you believe will suit the other look and feel of your wedding day, but also keeping in mind whether the colours you do choose suit the complexion of your bridesmaids as you want everyone to feel like a princess on the day.
