Making Your Wedding Marquee Work
- Get Permission
Depending on your location, you will need to get permission from the local authorities to set up your marquee. Make sure you comply with their requirements and avoid dramas on your wedding day.
- Check the Location
Have a representative from your local marquee hire company visit your location to check its suitability. Make sure the marquee can be delivered and set up without any issues.
- Extra Room
If there are no other buildings available at your location you may need to hire extra marquees for the kitchen, toilets, and as extra storage. A fully equipped kitchen for catering will need access to fresh water and a backup generator in case of a power outage. If you think it might rain, consider having covered walkways as well.
- Length of Hire
You will need to hire your wedding marquee one or two days before the actual wedding to set up and decorate. Allow at least a day after the event to clean up, pack down and deliver tables, chairs and decorations back to the hire company. Make sure you recruit volunteers to help you with all of this!
